One of the Most Expensive Homes in America – Spelling Manor

This massive home set its owner back a cool $80 million

The Manor, also known as Spelling Manor is a huge mansion to be found in Holmby Hill, Los Angeles. It was previously owned by the famous television producer Aaron Spelling and is the largest home in Los Angeles County.

The daughter (and heiress) of Formula One racing magnate Bernie Ecclestone bought the home for $85 million, marked down from the asking price of $150 million.

Fit for a king, this French chateau-style mansion has 123 rooms in 56,500 square feet spread out over 4.6 acres and is the largest home in Los Angeles County.

Built in 1988 at a cost of $12 million, the two-story house has a basement and an intermediate level for closets between the second story and attic. It includes a screening room, gym, bowling alley, and get this…three rooms for wrapping presents(!?).

Of course, it is also accompanied by four two-car garages, 16 carports, a tennis court, and a pool. The parking lot accommodates 100 vehicles for visits by friends and any hangers-on.

The maid service and maintenance required probably accounts for a quarter of the city’s hiring, so LA likely owes the owners a debt of gratitude.
